I lost my Music Festival virginity when I went for my very first Good Vibes Music Festival this year, on the 20 - 21 July 2019.
The months, weeks and days that led up the day were tainted with so much stress and anxiety about what I was going to wear, where to stay and basically what to do when we got there.
But when the day finally arrived, I was relieved that everything just fell into place and in the end, I realised that all that worrying and getting anxious was for nothing anyways.
P.S - I won't be writing much in this post because I think this time, for a change, I'd like to let the pictures do all the talking.
STAY

Before I share bits from the music festival, I wanted to share the place we got the pleasure of staying at for the weekend. Hidden deep within the luscious greenery and serenity that is Janda Baik, therein lay this beautiful home - 4Three Persiaran Pine.
Modern interior that's stripped from everything we are taught interior should look and feel like, this house showcases minimalism at it's finest. Two-storeys of spacious comfort, decked with high-ceilings, a roomy living space and wide bedrooms. We stayed on the 2nd floor which had the basics - a small kitchen space, a couch, a bookshelf, a hammock, a dining table. Also, there were power sockets stuck to the ground, which impressed me.
For those of you who are interested, this home has been listed on Facebook as 4Three Persiaran Pine.
EVENT - DAY 1
The festival grounds were brought to life with splashes of colour in every corner and neon lights to set it ablaze. The massive crowd vibrated off nothing but good energy and apparently, there were so much more people present this year than the other previous years. Thankfully, there was always something to do - from getting makeovers at Rimmel, quenching your thirst at Sjora to playing Pacman at the Stranger things booth. I know I was occupied.

OUTFIT - DAY 1

A few days before I left to Genting, I opened my suitcase and threw everything in there that screamed 'Good Vibes' - crop tops, shorts, body jewellery. I still had no idea what I was going to wear until I was forced to decide on an outfit an hour before we left to the festival grounds.
And voila...I went with a rose satin off shoulder top, that I had to DIY myself; pairing it with that one pair of ripped jeans shorts that hardly ever sees daylight and to top it all off, a gold body chain that I bought years ago but am only finding an occasion to wear it now.
Highlights of the night: Joji, Cigarettes After Sex, Mura Masa, 6Black, Rae Sremmurd and then, San Holo.

DAY 2
The morning after an exhausting night out partying is probably the most daunting of all, especially when there's alcohol in your system.
Thankfully, for me, I got to roll out of bed, get dressed and be chauffeured by 3 lovely ladies who came to escort me to the Strongbow Pre-Party Brunch that was held at GLAMZ, Genting (because I stayed all the way at Janda Baik and I had no transport, as everyone was still asleep)
I was welcomed to a lovely setup, with vines hanging from the ceiling with adorable little light bulps in between; the tables were beautifully decorated with leaves, candles, sprinkles of cashew nuts...and of course, their signature fruit: apples. The girls and I were definitely in for a treat.

The glorious spread of food generously displayed almost everything you can find at a grand brunch buffet but the highlight of it all was probably that it consisted of the ocean's finest: lobster, mussels, oysters, prawns - well, for me, at least.
Once we were done stuffing our faces, we had to take advantage of the whole setup - too many photo opportunities we couldn't pass up on (especially when I've got my girls with me)
Lucky for us, that was not all. Following a trail that led us to another tent below, we were then pampered with people to tend to our hair, makeup and even give us a foot massage (that was a Osim machine but same same, different. No?)
Safe to say that we were all well-rested to last through a whole night out partying.

Honestly, when I witnessed Daniel Caesar live, all my mind kept thinking of was one person: someone who couldn't be with me in that moment but I knew how much he'd love to. And thankfully, he now gets to keep all these video footage.
And then the highlight of my night: Sabrina Claudio.
Getting to watch her do her thing, LIVE, was far beyond anything I could wish for - and imagine how I'm saying this about an artist I just found out about after I saw the GVF 2019 lineup. Shame on me, I know. But for her, I didn't mind being in the pits with sweaty, stinky festival-goers who were just as excited to see her as I was.
_______________
All in all, I had a fantastic time. Of course I'm always going to compare it to my experience on It's The Ship 2018 where everything was in one place, just lower or upper deck, but I guess this is how you roll during music festivals - with your squad, vibin' off to your favourite artists and getting wasted just enough to enjoy the music.
Maybe this would be my last. Maybe not.
Who knows, I might surprise you!
Love, K xx
