I've spend a good amount of time during the MCO lockdown dabbling with new skincare products and switching up my skincare routine, in hopes of salvaging my once youthful, acne-free skin. I've switched cleansers, toners and even moisturizers, but the latest addition to my skincare routine would be these two wonder-working face oils from Root Remedies.

First impression: the packaging was a simple brown box which was filled with eco-friendly bubble wrap (made from unbleached recycled paper) where the oils were kept in and the amethyst stone was kept in a tiny non-bleached bag. I'm a sucker for beautiful packaging and I love seeing products packaged with lots of TLC. So their packaging was definitely a plus point, especially since it was all eco-friendly/recycled material. 10/10!

When it comes to face oils, it's best to use it right before you go to bed at night - so your hands won't fidget and touch your face as often as you would during the day.

I've made it a point to massage them into my skin at night, replacing my moisturizer. I've even managed to persuade my boyfriend to do this with me so now we have a night-time routine before bed where I'd first get rid of all his white/black heads, clean the gunk on his face with a toner and then, to complete it, I'd massage the Gromwell Face Oil that he's grown to love - non-sticky and odourless - with the Amethyst Gua Sha Stone which aids in tightening the skin and releasing tension from the face.

I personally prefer the Prickly Pear oil for it's benefits to my acne-prone skin and honestly, it's smell. Apart from the fact that I have large pores and an oily 'T' zone, this oil works wonders in keeping my skin hydrated throughout the night and keeps it supple during the day. I've even tried using this oil as a moisturizer before I slab on my foundation and it has not disappointed me - it evens out my foundation and in the areas where I do face dryness like my cheeks and around my nose, I don't see my skin flaking anymore.

"As minuscule as your fingerprints, as vague as the tan lines, the creases on your fingers, the scars on your knee. These are the lines that tells us a story of you.

As delicate as the lines that wraps around our skin, so should our skincare too. These precious storylines should be taken care of with only natural ingredients." - Root Remedies
